SUMMARY:
The Campus Lab Technician maintains and manages school-wide technology, providing technical support to staff and students. Troubleshoots, repairs, updates, and upgrades hardware, software, and other peripheral equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Troubleshoots and repairs problems with various types of hardware to include laptops, desktops, projectors, carts, response units, and smartboards. Makes service calls to outside vendors and schedules services and repairs as needed.
Manages and schedules the use of Shared-Use Labs. This includes desktop, laptop and cart service, ac adapter and cable management, as well as any repairs or services to maintain the functionality of the device.
Sets-up and tears down various audio-visual hardware, to include wired and wireless microphones, projectors, projecting devices, cables, adapters, and projector screens for various campus events.
Assists with the installation, troubleshooting, and management of local area and wide area data communications.
Collects and disposes of various surplus equipment, components, and cables no longer in service, broken, or obsolete. This process includes documentation, removal of hardware, organizational placement, and completion of procedures.
Maintains print server and printing devices; changes toners, cleans printing devices, and helps maintain connections to the printers on the server remote side.
Sets-up computer labs and carts. Dismantles and removes old equipment in labs and laptop carts; adds new desktops, keyboards, mice, monitors, ac adapters, laptops, desks, and chairs; documents equipment and cable management methods.
Assists as campus liaison to District Computer Repair Unit.
Works in conjunction with key IT Staff to provide hardware and software support, including software and hardware upgrades, troubleshooting and basic equipment repair, campus-wide student labs, classroom workstations and instructional support computers and administration computers.
Supports the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and school information; follows Governing Board Policies; performs all other related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:
High School diploma or GED equivalent; Two-year technical certificate in a technology related field is preferred; AND three years of technical support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

License and Certification Requirements:
Must possess an active Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card or obtain one within the first 90 workdays of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed throughout District facilities and school campuses and requires the use of hand tools. May be required to climb ladders and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
