ABOUT THE UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD (UGDSB)

The UGDSB employs a team of approximately 6,500 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 66 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington, and the City of Guelph. THE OPPORTUNITY

The UGDSB and St. George's Centre for ESL is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a temporary part-time opportunity in the capacity of ESL/LINC Instructor in the non-credit adult ESL program.

This program is funded jointly by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. The class level is to be determined.

Location:

St. George's Centre

Note: This is an on-site role teaching an in-person class

FTE and Hours:

5 hours and 20 minutes per week

Hourly Pay Rate:

$36.49 - $44.84 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; wage rate effective September 1, 2025

Work Schedule:

Monday and Wednesday; 6:20pm – 9:00pm (which includes PBLA administration time); Equivalent to 5 hours and 20 minutes per week.

Start Date:

The final offer of employment for this position depends upon learner enrolment and funding. Duties to commence no sooner than July 6, 2026.

End Date:

Anticipated end date of July 29, 2026.

Experience and Qualifications:

TESL Ontario accreditation (in good standing)
Excellent knowledge of the Canadian Language Benchmarks
Familiarity with LINC curriculum documents
Knowledge of and experience with Portfolio Based Language Assessment
Proven ability to develop and deliver a multi-level task-based curriculum
Excellent classroom management skills
Proven commitment to learner success
Excellent organizational and reporting skills
Familiarity with Google Classroom is an asset
