About the role
We’re looking for Accident Benefits Adjuster to join our growing team!
Please note an increased in office presence will be required for the first 6 months of employment to ensure proper development and growth in this role
What you'll do here:
Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and evaluate entitlements that are fair and equitable
Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with customers, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements
Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as medical examinations, customer medical or employment history as required to clarify and/or justify a claim
Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet our legislative requirements
Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to improve quality service and competitiveness
What you bring to the table:
1+ years of claims adjusting experience required (Auto, Property, Accident Benefits, Total Loss, Casualty, Specialty)
Accident Benefits claims handling is preferred
Alignment with IFC company organizational values
Medical knowledge is an asset
Working toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
Have a strong ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment
Demonstrate strong negotiation and decision-making skills
A critical thinker when it comes to approaching complex problems in time-sensitive situations and with minimal supervision
A skilled communicator, allowing you to foster favorable business relationships
Have a keen ability to listen to others with the goal of gathering information, allowing you to efficiently evaluate a situation
Go above and beyond for our customers and your colleagues because you truly want to make a difference
Have strong desk management and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
