About the Human Tissue Authority…
The Human Tissue Authority’s (HTA’s) primary goal is to protect public and professional confidence in the safe and ethical use of human tissue.
We are the national independent regulator for organisations that remove, store and use tissue for research, medical treatment, post-mortem examination, teaching and public display. We also approve organ and bone marrow donations from living people. With the interests of the public and those we regulate at the centre of our work, we aim to maintain confidence by ensuring that human tissue is used safely and ethically, with proper consent.

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Services Manager to join our team at the HTA. In this pivotal role, you will support the HTA in achieving its vision by leading our Corporate Services support functions and enabling effective business operations across the organisation.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Performance & Corporate Governance, you will bring a passion for all things governance, compliance and quality related. You will provide expert support and guidance across the organisation, delivering services that empower, rather than constrain, our work.
You will be responsible for a leading diverse portfolio, including:
• Governance and quality management arrangements incl. Quality Forum
• Corporate compliance with key government requirements such as Government Functional Standards (Please note that incoming corporate correspondence will occasionally include graphic images that could cause distress. The viewing of such images as part of the processing of corporate correspondence is an infrequent but unavoidable part of this role)
• Critical Incident Response Planning and Business Continuity Planning
• Corporate correspondence and enquiries handling, incl. complaints
• Freedom of Information
• Event planning
What we can offer you...
Your health and wellbeing are important to us and are supported through generous annual leave (32.5 days, plus 8 Bank Holidays). We also offer membership of the NHS pension scheme.
As this role is homebased, we ensure our Homeworkers are also kitted out with everything they need to comfortably work from home.
Remote working option *Standard contracts available are homeworking (an average of 3 days in the office each month) or office-based (minimum of 1 day a week in the office).
What you will bring…
We are seeking a Corporate Services Manager with a strong service ethos and both strategic and tactical awareness. You will be adept at managing multiple priorities and issues simultaneously, demonstrating excellent judgement in how you prioritise and deliver outcomes. Your ability to quickly build trust and form effective relationships—both with senior leaders and colleagues across the organisation and beyond—will be key to your success.
As an expert communicator, you will be confident in engaging with senior stakeholders, both in writing and verbally, and will be able to clearly demonstrate your technical expertise across all aspects of your function. You will bring a proactive approach, gaining the confidence of others through your professionalism, depth of knowledge and the high calibre of your written outputs.
Resilience and flexibility are essential in this broad and busy role. You will thrive in situations of uncertainty and ambiguity, maintaining a clear focus on outcomes and demonstrating excellent time management skills. Your approach will be adaptable, and you will remain calm and solution-focused under pressure.
This is a unique opportunity within the HTA, offering insight and access across the organisation. The successful candidate will share our passion for what we do and how we do it, supporting our corporate Vision and Mission and consistently displaying behaviours aligned with our Values.
Individual adjustments...
We are committed to being open and transparent around our processes and we endeavour to offer every candidate the opportunity to perform at their best throughout the recruitment process. We seek to support candidates to identify potential challenges and work with them to identify and facilitate reasonable adjustments as appropriate. Should you require assistance and/or would like to request a reasonable adjustment at any stage of the recruitment process, please contact a member of the team via email: recruitment@cqc.org.uk
