Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee the full financial accounting function for our business.
The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience and the ability to manage various financial responsibilities with minimal supervision.
You will be comfortable handling a variety of tasks, from general ledger reconciliations to financial reporting, compliance, and month-end processes.
A well-rounded skill set, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in a team are key requirements for this role.
Responsibilities
Oversight of the full financial accounting function for the business
Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, IFRS, and statutory requirements
Prepare and review monthly Board reports, annual financial statements, and bank covenant reporting
Manage general ledger reconciliations and month-end close, including journals and accruals
Maintain accurate daily cash flow management and forecasting
Supervise AR, AP, payroll, BAS, FBT, and capex processes
Prepare income tax returns and manage transfer pricing compliance
Address external audit queries in a timely and professional manner
Work closely with the CFO, Senior Management Team, and banking partners
Support product pricing and costing analysis to aid business decision-making
Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Drive efficiencies in the monthly close process and identify process improvement opportunities
Assist in documenting finance policies and ensuring best practices
Support the finance team with ad hoc projects and business initiatives as required
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an experienced Accountant with a background in either an accounting firm (business services or advisory) or as a company accountant within industry and commerce.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and an inquisitive nature, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment with support from an exceptional CFO.
This role can offer stability for someone who is not looking for career progression, but for those who are looking to grow, there is a distinct possibility that this role could lead to a Finance Manager position in the near term.
