Accountant
Location: Parramatta, Sydney NSW

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum + Superannuation

Tax Solutions New South Wales is a growing boutique accounting and advisory firm based in Parramatta. Since 2021, we have delivered high-quality, client-focused solutions across a wide range of accounting disciplines. We support small to medium-sized businesses and individuals with bookkeeping, taxation, business advisory, cash flow forecasting, and external CFO services. Our firm prides itself on accuracy, responsiveness, and personal service.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Accountant to join our professional team and contribute to delivering expert financial guidance and compliance solutions to our expanding client base.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and lodgment of income tax returns, Business Activity Statements (BAS), and financial statements for individuals, partnerships, companies, and trusts
Assisting with tax planning strategies, including GST, CGT, FBT, and Division 7A compliance
Conducting bank reconciliations, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable reviews, and end-of-month journals
Liaising directly with clients to provide clear, practical advice and resolve technical queries
Supporting the firm’s Principal with documentation and insights for management reporting and client briefings
Assisting with external CFO support, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance analysis
Collaborating with administrative staff and junior team members to ensure timely preparation and submission of financial documentation
Ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and ATO regulations
Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
A minimum of 1–2 years’ experience in public practice accounting in Australia (essential)
Sound knowledge of Australian taxation law, GST, and relevant reporting frameworks
Demonstrated experience using accounting software platforms (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks)
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret financial data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proactive, client-focused attitude
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work both independently and within a small team
Intention to pursue or current enrolment in CPA or CA qualification (desirable but not mandatory)
