The California Joint Powers Insurance Authority is seeking a skilled Accountant to join our dynamic team. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and reporting financial data for our organization. Your expertise in accounting and finance will be instrumental as we streamline processes, enhance controls, and take full advantage of our recently implemented accounting software. Under the guidance of the Finance Director, some of your responsibilities will include: · Conducting various accounting tasks, including payroll, accounts payable, reconciliation of Authority funds, and posting financial transactions to the general ledger.· Providing professional-level assistance in reconciling accounting data from external claims administrators.· Pursuing collection of excess recoveries from insurance companies.· Collaborating with coworkers and members on various projects.
