Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Accountant to join our team .
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our Institute. This includes tracking students, collecting fees from students, raising invoices, and managing the collection of student fees on our portal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and regulations..
Key Responsibilities:
Track student payments and ensure timely collection of fees from students.
Manage the invoicing process for students, ensuring that all fees are accurately recorded and charged.
Liaise with the admissions team to ensure that new student information is accurately entered into the system.
Monitor student accounts to ensure that fees are paid on time and follow up with students who are behind on payments.
Work closely with the finance team to reconcile student accounts and ensure that all financial records are accurate and up to date.
Respond to student inquiries regarding their accounts, payments, and invoices.
Prepare regular reports on student accounts, including outstanding balances and collections.
Provide support to the finance team as needed, including assisting with audits and other financial reporting.
Other Responsibilities:
Maintaining accurate and complete financial records of the Institute
Preparing financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Reconciling bank statements and ensuring all transactions are properly recorded
Preparing and submitting tax returns and other compliance-related documents
Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing payments and invoices
Monitoring budgets and preparing variance reports
Ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and regulations
Collaborating with other departments to provide financial information and support as needed
Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational institution.
Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft office / excel and other accounting softwares such as Tally ERP, QuickBooks or Xero.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and other staff members.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
