Job Description: Accountant (Financial Statement Review)
Looking for an experienced Accountant responsible for reviewing financial statements, making observations, and providing useful metrics to assist our clients in making informed business decisions. You will work independently to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Review financial statements where data entry is done by the client to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Analyze financial data and metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
Provide valuable insights and observations based on the financial statement analysis.
Make the necessary adjusting journal entries to rectify any errors or discrepancies in the financial statements.
Utilize advanced knowledge of Microsoft tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to create meaningful reports and presentations for clients.
Proficiently use external tools for data analysis and reporting, with training provided as necessary.
Collaborate with team to address any questions or concerns regarding their financial statements and provide expert guidance as needed.
Maintain documentation and records related to financial statement review processes.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, with a focus on financial statement review and analysis.
Excellent understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
Proficient in using Microsoft tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in financial statements.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and precision.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
Basic understanding of taxation, specifically related to accruals for income tax purposes.
Strong communication skills (written and spoken) in English to effectively convey financial information clearly
