Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to handle all financial transactions and reporting for our travel agency. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for the travel industry. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Transaction Management: Process and review travel-related transactions, including bookings, refunds, and vendor payments.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Financial Reporting: Generate and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and agency policies.
• Expense Tracking: Monitor and track travel agency expenses, including operational costs, commissions, and vendor fees.
• Audit Preparation: Prepare for internal and external audits by organizing and maintaining financial documentation and providing necessary information to auditors.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to tax regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all financial operations.
• Client and Vendor Relations: Manage invoicing and payments to vendors and handle financial inquiries from clients and partners.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the travel or hospitality industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero), MS Excel, and other financial management tools.
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies and issues promptly.
