Triple Eight Transport Inc. is looking for a detail- oriented Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The accountant will collaborate closely with various departments to support budgeting, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable functions.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Conduct bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Perform Vendor Set Up and manage credit applications.
Assist in the preparation of budgets to support strategic planning.
Pull and process AP batches, Wires, Cheques, EFT.
Utilize accounting software such as Great Plains and Microsoft dynamics for efficient financial reporting and analysis.
Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
Generate invoices and billing to the customers.
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting corporate finance.
Perform account reconciliation of G/L accounts.
Manage bank deposits, leases and fuel transactions.
Fill out tax forms and work with accountants to ensure compliance.
Other duties as required by Triple Eight Transport Inc.
Code and enter invoices, ensuring accuracy along with collection of approvals and matching supporting documents.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
A diploma or degree in accounting or a related field.
Accounting experience in transportation/ construction industry is an asset.
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong ability to multitask, problem solve and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations preferred.
High degree of personal organization, including scheduling and prioritizing work tasks to meet deadlines.
Meticulous attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
Comfort working with spreadsheets and strong understanding of math and numbers.
Proficient in bookkeeping software, experience in Great Plains Software is an asset.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to identify problems and take initiatives to implement workable solutions.
Eager to learn and grow within and out of the position.
Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada
