The Accountant Associate will prepare and analyze financial information to provide accurate and useful information to management for review and decision making. This position exists to ensure accounting processes are completed thoroughly and accurately, while aligning with Company standards.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Prepares and analyzes financial statements and reports.
• Works with other Accountants in preparing income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports.
• Creates and analyzes financial reports and records for management review.
• Verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
Executes general accounting assignments or projects with accuracy and on a timely manner.
• Posts, reviews, and confirms general ledger transactions.
• Assembles, creates, and reconciles month-end accounting entries resolving discrepancies.
• Secures financial information by completing database backups.
Assists in process development and training to accounting staff.
• Assists in special studies and development of improved methods and procedures.
• Provides training to entry and intermediate accounting assistant support employees.
• Makes recommendations to improve processes by analyzing standard operating procedures.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
• Associate’s degree from a two-year college preferred with a major or emphasis in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in General Accounting, A/P, or A/R clerical and/or entry-level Accountant positions required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance may be substituted for experience.
• Experience with automated accounting and financial management systems.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations. Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and interact effectively with management, employees and auditors. Must have the ability to convey financial information to non-financial users. Ability to work independently and meet stringent deadlines. Organizational ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
COMPENSATION
The hourly range listed for this position, $21.46 to $33.84, is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, experience and/or education. In addition, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer. We typically do not hire towards the maximum of the range in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a substantial benefits package outlined below.
