Job Description
We are looking for an entry level Accountant for a client in the Financial Services industry, located in Bellevue, Washington. In this role, you will be applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and is fully remote. Candidates must live in Western Washington to be considered.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and company accounting policies to define, prepare, review, and analyze various monthly schedules supporting the balance sheet and income statement.
• Analyze financial information to maintain the accuracy of all financial information recorded and reported.
• Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly journal entries.
• Serve as a primary contact for inquiries, problems, and exceptions related to assigned tasks.
• Maintain effective communication with other departments and team to assure complete and accurate financial information and appropriate documentation.
• Use Microsoft Excel and other relevant software to perform account reconciliations and create pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
• Apply technical accounting knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP).
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Utilize effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Exhibit analytical and problem-solving skills for routine and increasingly complex tasks.
• Perform assignments independently.
• Possess a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, specifically Pivot Table and VLOOKUP functions
• Demonstrated experience in account reconciliation and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of financial software and systems is a plus
• High ethical standards and professionalism, as this role involves dealing with confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
