We are in search of an Accountant to be part of our team based in Chestertown, Maryland. This role combines the employment types of temporary and permanent, offering a contract to hire employment opportunity. The primary function of this role involves taking charge of various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, and demonstrating proficiency in different accounting software.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the processing of approximately 200 invoices weekly
• Take responsibility for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations
• Utilize your knowledge of Microsoft Excel to manage data and perform simple formulas
• Enter and manage inventory details accurately
• Assist the maintenance team with the entry of work orders
• Ensure accuracy in all accounting tasks
• Independently handle various accounting functions
• Utilize Sage software, formerly known as Peachtree, for various accounting tasks (not a requirement but a plus)
• Maintain and manage customer credit records efficiently
• Resolve customer inquiries and monitor customer accounts proactively.• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role
• Proficiency in Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of Sage Software
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
