Job Description
Responsible for general ledger input and the preparation of journal entries. Maintains detail of cash collections. Prepares and distributes monthly reports on sessional usage. Performs bank reconciliations for all accounts.
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for preparing and posting cash receipts, general journal entries and payroll summaries.
2. Receives, records, and deposits cash receipts. Monitors, records and reconciles lockbox collections. Runs and distributes online banking daily cash reports. Prepares bank reconciliations.
3. Prepares and distributes reports on sessional spending usage, medical student rotations, fringe benefit reserves, and overhead expenses.
4. Performs all timekeeping/floor check audits. Prepares annual schedule of audits making sure every department is audited at least once a year.
5. Responsible for organizing various union, geographic provider and intercompany related payments.
6. Coordinates microfilming of all prior year records. Maintains binders for department.
7. Answers department telephones when Administrative Assistant is not available. Prepares essential A/P checks during employee vacations and/or absences.
8. Prepares payroll related spreadsheets/reports used to monitor and analyze spending trends across all departments.
Qualifications
Associates degree with a concentration in Accounting.
One year previous experience in general accounting.
Intermediate skill level in Excel.
Beginning skill level in Outlook and Word.
General familiarity with office machines (fax, scanners, copiers).
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of telephone protocol.
