LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an Everett-based client in search of their next Accountant. The Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial accounting, and grant support services to meet the organization's requirements and those of its grantors and donors. This role emphasizes budgeting, compliance, reporting, and variance analysis.
Responsiblities:
• Collaborate with the Development Office and Program Directors on grant proposals, focusing on budget development.
• Prepare grant program budgets and amendments as needed by grantors.
• Compile monthly invoices and review costs for compliance with Allowable Costs Principles.
• Analyze and present financial reports to Program Directors, offering insights and strategies for fiscal management.
• Ensure accurate cost allocation to each grant, understanding grant contracts and fiscal regulations.
• Participate in program and annual audits by preparing Grant Annual Reports and supporting documentation.
• Monitor regulations and update policies for compliance, communicating changes to Program Managers.
• Provide audit schedules to support audit activities.
• Identify process improvements and take corrective action.
• Record activities with general ledger journal entries.
• Support Staff Accountant and cross-train on duties of other Accountants.
Required Education & Experience:
• 1-3 years of accounting experience.
• A.A. degree in Accounting; 5 years of experience may substitute.
• Experience in fund accounting principles.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with computerized accounting systems; familiarity with mid-market accounting software packages (MIP, Sage Intacct, Microsoft GP, etc.), and Real Page/OneSite is advantageous.
