We seek a dynamic and experienced Consulting Bookkeeper to join our remote team on a 2-3 month-long assignment. This exciting opportunity is for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to apply their expertise in managing financial transactions, maintaining financial records, and providing financial advice to our clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in bookkeeping and a keen eye for detail. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to be part of a collaborative team while working from the comfort of your home.
Responsibilities
As a Consulting Bookkeeper, you will
• Handle day-to-day bookkeeping duties, including managing accounts payable and receivable, account reconciliation, and general ledger entries.
• Implement and maintain accurate financial records.
• Utilize Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT for financial management and reporting.
• Prepare financial statements and reports, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Provide consulting services to clients, advising on best practices in financial management, budgeting, and financial planning.
• Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and systems.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end audits and reviews.
• Provide support to the finance team in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
• Proven experience with account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger.
• Proficiency in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT is a plus, any major ERP is okay.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
• Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
• Superior time management and organizational skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
