Job Description: Accountant (CBSE Affiliated School) - Kolar, Karnataka
Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Accountant to join our CBSE affiliated school located in Kolar, Karnataka. The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the school, including budgeting, financial reporting, payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers for the school's transactions, including revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
2. Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support decision-making by the management team.
3. Process payroll for school staff, including calculation of salaries, deductions, and statutory contributions.
4. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and fee collections.
5. Reconcile bank statements, petty cash accounts, and other financial accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
6. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and financial performance.
7. Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards applicable to educational institutions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in an educational institution or similar setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite, especially Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with CBSE guidelines and regulations is an advantage.
