Job description
Our client is an industrial technology company that concentrates on helping the world work better. Their technology enables jobs to be done more precisely and accurately so that people can build, construct, grow, and move the things they need to live and develop future communities.
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for effectively working with the finance team across the US during this peak period and assisting in various tasks.
Compensation: $55/hr
Availability: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm.
Job Duties:
• Ensure monthly closing duties are performed by their deadlines, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing and distributing reports.
• Candidate should have a strong background in Revenue Recognition ASC-606.
• Review and conduct analysis, report on discrepancies, and assist with correcting the monthly financial statements to ensure the correct financial position statement.
• Performs and conducts analysis of balance sheet and other account reconciliations and supporting schedules, reports on discrepancies, and assists in monthly account resolutions.
• Responsible for the accurate and timely recording of corporate accounting transactions.
• Assist with complex accounting items such as revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and unbilled.
• Engage in digital transformation initiatives, contributing to testing, analysis, and post-implementation activities.
• Leverage AI and systems automation to enhance accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes, setting new standards for operational excellence.
• Collaborate with teams across North America, including the Corporate Revenue Recognition team, Corporate Consolidated Reporting team, and Digital Transformation team.
• Work closely with data/systems specialists to leverage technology to enhance accounting processes.
• Assist with department-wide projects to improve process efficiency and add value.
Qualifications:
• A BS/BA in accounting or related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency with ERPs such as Oracle, Netsuite, and Great Plains.
• Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets.
• A solid understanding of GAAP.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to aid in a wide variety of requests.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to execute multiple tasks with accuracy.
