SUMMARY
This position is responsible for accounting work for a variety of complex accounting functions requiring critical thinking and analysis. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), financial regulations, federal and state tax laws is required.
Responsible for monthly review of full balance sheet reconciliations and assistance with audit and budget preparation. Assist with month-end and year-end closing. Backup for Payroll processing, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable duties utilizing integrated accounting software, complex spreadsheets, and MS Office programs. Assists with process improvements and system changes. Other tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Preparation of financial statements, budget files, forecasts, and additional reporting requirements.
• Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work effectively.
• Review and analyze general ledger transactions to resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
• Responsible for timely and accurate processing of month end closure, including intercompany transactions and balance confirmations.
• Cash management, control, and reporting.
• Maintain complex financial data within Excel and computerized accounting systems.
• Manage and track company fixed assets.
• Work with external auditing firms as they perform annual audits.
• Understand and assist with payroll processing.
• Responsible for the organization and maintenance of existing accounting procedures and the drafting of new procedures as they arise.
• Assist in processing customer orders, invoicing and communications.
• Assist in annual physical inventory process.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting and budgeting, preferably in a manufacturing and distribution environment.
• Knowledge of pertinent laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to record keeping, payroll, employee benefits, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and budgetary record keeping.
• Familiarity with cost allocation principles.
• Ability to perform complex data analysis.
• Ability to interpret and apply appropriate laws, policies, and procedures specific to the job functions.
• Ability to work carefully with details to assist preparing accurate, clear, and concise financial reports.
• Poses high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Continual demonstration of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
• Ability to work effectively with sound judgment in a manner that promotes collaborative problem solving and a cooperative environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• Five years of accounting, financial analysis and/or full-charge bookkeeping required.
• Ability to pass background checks.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
