Business Interface Workforce Services, LLC (BI), is a demand-side workforce intermediary that helps business fill critical workforce gaps by employing the economically disabled. The organization serves as the interface between socially conscious employers in need of a productive, committed workforce and an untapped pool of labor qualified and prepared for employment.
Areas of Responsibility:
The Jr. Accountant plans, organizes and manages (in collaboration with the President and senior management team) BI’s financial and business functions including accounting, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, and contract administration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide technical expertise and information to the president & CEO regarding assigned functions; assist as needed in the formulation and development of fiscal policies, procedures and programs; advise the president & CEO of unusual trends or problems and recommend appropriate corrective action.
• Plan, organize and implement long and short-term programs and activities designed to maximize BI’s programs and budget administration.
• Manages the preparation and maintenance of a variety of financial reports, records and files related to BI’s expenditures and budgets.
• Prepare financial statements and other reports regarding BI’s financial position.
• Manages the preparation of departmental budgets; develop preliminary and final estimates of BI expenditures and revenues; prepare BI’s annual budget, supervise audit preparation, payment of invoices, payroll and other expenditures.
• Managers the purchase, receipt, storage and distribution of supplies, materials and stock; direct the annual inventory of BI’s property.
• Process weekly payroll.
• Perform related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Minimum 5-10 years in Finance-related role, general accounting experience.
• Familiarity with federal grant administration and requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Windows.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing workload to complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Supervisory skills.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of Quick books or other similar accounting software.
