What You’ll Do:
The Accounting Analyst provides financial support for the company. The individual collaborates with the Finance and Accounting team on financial accounting, taxation and regulatory reporting. The Accounting Analyst takes a large part in the training and development of new staff members in the Accounting and Finance team. In addition, you will assist with special projects as they relate to finance, regulatory and accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable, including reviewing processed invoices and employee’s expenses to verify accuracy. Approve online payments.
Assist in the preparation and submission of credit applications.
Assist in the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including monthly bank reconciliation, reviewing payroll transactions, and tracking manual adjustments and entries as needed.
Prepare Company Financial Statements including processing fixed asset depreciation, corporate allocation and performing balance checks.
Assist in the completion of year end documentation for the Company for external auditors.
Review monthly/quarterly/annual submissions required for regulatory compliance items and prepared by the Accounting Technicians.
Prepare and process monthly government remittances including federal and premium tax.
Provide training and development for new team members.
Ensure adequate internal controls within accounting and finance department, assist internal audit with testing and implementation of controls.
Involvement with additional accounting, finance, regulatory, compliance or payroll projects as deemed necessary by CFO.
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of one year related experience in Accounting or Finance.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel is required.
Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail is considered an asset.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards is considered an asset.
