Accounting Analyst at BCG| Boston Consulting Group

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This role is part of BCG Gamma finance team. While the group works most closely with Gamma finance leadership (and, by extension, Gamma Leadership Team, Executive Committee and Operating Committee), it serves a wide base of customers including the business line leadership teams, the heads of function/product, and key global process partners in planning, systems, reporting and finance operations & accounting. The work requires flexibility to create, adapt, and execute new tools and processes in fast paced, technically challenging environment where business requirements are constantly evolving.

You will be part of GAMMA Finance Operations and Accounting team. This role requires individual to work in a collaborative manner with team members in Gamma Finance on the following key areas:

YOU'RE GOOD AT
• Manage accounting of revenue and costs and ensure governance in accounting
• Computation, booking and reporting of business capex and amortization on software/data assets
• Own, manage and maintain project and product database in financial systems
• Review of revenue and cost contracts to ensure proper accounting
• Recording of accounting transactions in financial systems as per required timeframe
• Reconciliation of revenue/cost to capture any leakages and find scaling opportunities
• Manage and maintain balances of deferred and accrued revenue/costs, reserves in coordination with various local finance teams
• Analysis of revenue impact items like discount, investments and partnering with business to minimize revenue loss/leakage
• Partnering with analytics to provide enhanced digital reporting
• Automation of accounting processes
• Own and maintain process documentation and find opportunities for improvement
• Ad-hoc reporting and data analysis as required

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
• Chartered Accountant or equivalent/ MBA (Finance)
• 3+ years of experience in accounting including US GAAP
• Strong analytical and presentation skills
• Advanced technical skills with proficiency in desktop applications, power point/advanced excel, financial systems
• Solid business partner with the ability to dialogue, communicate at all levels
• Individual must demonstrate leadership qualities and be willing to take a hands-on approach and be able to excel in a large international company culture
• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Trustworthy, able to be deal with confidential information
• Systems experience preferred: Hyperion, Oracle, Business Objects, and other comparable systems.
• Adaptable to change management and open to multi-tasking in a complex working environment
