Responsibilities
The Associate will be a part of the internal accounting and reporting team in GEB including General Accounting and Financial reporting, Internal Financial Control, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, treasury, taxation and accounts reconciliation activities. The associates would also need to wor on tax related activities for GEB including but not limited to calculation of appropriate taxes: GST, Corporate Income tax, Advance tax, and Withholding taxes This role will be responsible for recording all transactions within GEB financial system and to ensure the overall integrity and accuracy of financial reporting. The role will be a key participant in the financial close / reporting process for Giant Eagle, and will work to continuously improve and optimize the process. Together with this, the candidate would be required to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
The role will work both with stakeholders within GEB, as well as with the teams in North America to support consolidation of local Indian financial results into GEBs overall financial records. The role will be a key participant in the financial close / reporting process for GEB and ensuring timely tax and statutory compliance and will work to continuously improve and optimize the process.
The incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail, as well as strong financial and taxation acumen, including knowledge of local tax laws along with knowledge of international taxation.
Your Responsibilities Include
• Financial accounting for the entity and ensuring compliance to all policy and procedure
• Presentation of financial statement
• Invoice processing, accounting and payment
• Experience with banking activities and maintaining banking relationship
• Knowledge of financial accounting and cost allocation
• MIS and Reporting - Developing and managing reporting structure of financial information
• Preparing budget vs Actual variance and presenting to the senior management
• Provision of financial results to support preparation of overall consolidated results in accordance with agreed format/timelines
• Ensures compliance with GEB financial policies and internal controls framework
Required Skills
• Qualified or Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent
• Strong financial aptitude with Min 2-4 years of work experience in finance and accounting profile with MNCs/GICs, with preference to Retail industry focused on General Accounting, Financial Reporting and other transactional Finance activities
• Strong working experience in Tally
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Proactive self-starter with a dynamic and resilient nature able to work and lead in a fast-paced environment
• Able to think out of the box and challenge the status quo while being extremely well organized and detailed oriented with demonstrated follow-up skills

• Strong customer service skills, for both internal and external customers
