Responsibilities
Outside of team member development, the accounting manager will oversee the cash cycle, accounting close, and the preparation of financial statements
Working hand in hand with the Controller, the Accounting Manager will continuously work to improve the quality and usefulness of the financial information being recorded and reported
Specifically, the Accounting Manager will oversee the major administrative accounting functions in:
Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoice and payment processing; ensuring aging reports and team members provide reliable information about expected cash flows
Cash Flow, preparing weekly and monthly cash requirement sheets for the Controller to use in decisioning payments to vendors and in determining funding requirements
Inventory Accounting, establishing a monthly reconciliation and reporting of inventory in a manufacturing environment
Fixed Assets, overseeing purchase, disposal, and depreciation entries; ensuring major improvements are capitalized; overseeing the annual fixed asset roll forward
Tax, ensuring timely filing of certain tax forms, such as sales and use, 10++, heavy haul form 22+0
Accounting Close, holding team members accountable for their duties in balance sheet account reconciliation, month-end reporting and analytics, closing journal entries; updating the close process as necessary; assisting in the creation of a close process in new fleet maintenance software (AMCS Dossier)
Financial Reporting, preparing monthly financial statements and sub-tables, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
As a team leader this person will be expected to:
Hold weekly team meetings and regular one-on-one check-ins
Conduct annual performance reviews with goal setting and tracking
Facilitate team building or development-oriented activities, such as a monthly Lunch & Learn
Hold team members accountable to their goals and responsibilities

Our desire is for a people-oriented leader with a coaching mindset to foster personal and professional growth in our team members. Outside of team member development, the accounting manager will oversee the cash cycle, accounting close, and the preparation of financial statements.

- Experience in consolidation and cost accounting is preferred
