Job Description
This position works closely with all members of the Accounting department and assists with the day-to-day operations, with a focus on Income Audit.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare, document, and complete month-end closing procedures and reporting requirements
Monitor revenue records and follow internal procedures to ensure compliance with all tax obligations
Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables' data
Develop and implement department and hotel processes and procedures to increase efficiencies
Track, verify figures, review reports and documents for accuracy
Organize, secure and maintain all files and records in accordance with policies and procedures
Record, store, access and analyze financial information
Review, reconcile, and prepare bills
Resolve billing discrepancies and resolve past due accounts
Use professional verbal and written communication to respond to all external and internal customers, including all levels of hotel management and the corporate office, ensuring follow-up and satisfaction
Maintain daily checklist to ensure completion of responsibilities
Provide financial information and results to department, hotel staff and corporate office
This position must be able to lead a diverse team and make sound decisions
This position is a progressive role where adaptability is highly desired and candidate hired will report to the Assistant Controller
Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000
Requirements:
A minimum of 6 years of related progressive experience in hotel Accounting or related field; or a 4-year college degree with an Accounting/Finance concentration and a minimum of 2 years of related progressive experience; or a 2-year college degree and a minimum of 4 years of related progressive experience.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, and in the operation of hotel-specific systems.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience with multi-state payroll processing (preferred).
Knowledge of union payroll and collective bargaining agreements (a plus).
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000
