Job Description
Summary:
Responsible for core general ledger activities to ensure complete and accurate account reconciliations, analysis, accruals and reserves and timely monthly financial statements.
Duties:
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close; meet internal and external reporting deadline.
• Timely completion of monthly account reconciliations.
• Timely and accurate completion of various reserves including allowance for bad debts and returns, excess and obsolete inventory and freight capitalization.
• Manage intercompany sales, payables and receivables, ensuring proper reconciliation and elimination at period end.
• Support daily/weekly treasury functions by processing wires, checks and other daily cash reporting functions.
• Participate and partner with the finance team on key business initiatives such as improving and standardizing the closing and account reconciliation process and indirect spend analysis and cost reductions.
• Various audit schedules and analysis as needed to support year-end audit.
• Actively develop direct reports by setting expectations, providing feedback and identifying learning opportunities.
• Delegate job responsibilities among team members and oversee that quality work is being completed within the deadline.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
7+ years of related experience.
Supervisory, project leadership experience.
CPA, CMA or other appropriate certification, or desire to obtain certification, preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP.
Previous experience in accounting in a growing multi-unit domestic and/or foreign company, including strong general ledger reconciliation experience.
Advanced skills with ERP systems (NetSuite a plus), automation and Microsoft Excel.
Private equity owned, public accounting and foreign currency experience a plus.
