Description
We are in search of a Senior Accountant based in Milpitas, California. This role focuses on managing diverse accounting activities and building a service-oriented team. This position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity that involves overseeing accounting operations in the US and globally. You will be expected to handle the accounting close process for multiple legal entities and ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
Responsibilities
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for multiple legal entities in accordance with US GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Build and manage a service-oriented team, establishing effective processes and internal controls to ensure timely transaction processing and discrepancy resolution.
• Oversee general accounting, compensation, and benefits accounting in the US, and manage global accounting activities.
• Lead the company's GAAP to non-GAAP reporting and tracking processes, while identifying process improvements and system architecture enhancements.
• Manage the global account reconciliation process, conducting periodic quality reviews, and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure a smooth month-end close.
• Collaborate with the Technical Accounting team to design operational processes supporting the implementation of new accounting standards.
• Identify and pursue automation opportunities in collaboration with the accounting transformation team. Develop scalable and transformational processes to support new business initiatives.
• Design, implement, and maintain effective accounting processes, policies, and internal controls. Recommend best practices and process improvements while seeking alignment opportunities across all subsidiaries.
• Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to global teams, including the global accounting shared service center.
• Liaise with external auditors to provide necessary information for quarterly reviews, annual audits, and annual statutory audits/tax returns for foreign subsidiaries.
Requirements
• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proven expertise in Month End Close processes
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles and practices
• Experience in a Public Company setting is a must
• Proficient in managing Accounting close processes
• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary
