As the business continues to scale, we are seeking an Accounting Manager to take full ownership of the company’s accounting function and ensure accurate, timely, and well-managed financial operations.
Job Summary
The Accounting Manager will own the day-to-day accounting function for Crystal Clean Maintenance, from bookkeeping through month-end close. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining clean books, strong processes, and accurate records.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being the “owner” of accounting in a small business environment and takes pride in well-run systems and reconciled accounts.
Duties
Accounting Ownership & Month-End Close
Own the full accounting cycle using QuickBooks
Oversight of Invoicing & Accounts Receivable
Oversee administrative staff responsible for:
Invoice generation
Accounts receivable tracking and collections
Review invoicing and AR activity for accuracy and completeness
Resolve discrepancies, exceptions, and process issues
Improve invoicing and AR workflows where needed
Year-End & External Support
Prepare accounting records for year-end
Coordinate with external accountants and advisors as required
Respond to questions and provide supporting documentation
Process & Systems Improvement
Document accounting processes and month-end procedures
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls
Support QuickBooks optimization and system improvements
Ensure accounting processes scale with business growth
Perform monthly bookkeeping and month-end close
Complete monthly reconciliations for:
Bank and credit card accounts
Balance sheet accounts (including accruals and prepaid items)
Ensure accurate recording of revenue, expenses, payroll, and adjusting entries
Maintain a clean, well-supported general ledger
Qualifications
4–8 years of hands-on accounting or senior bookkeeping experience
Proven experience owning the accounting function in a small business
Strong month-end close and reconciliation experience
Experience overseeing or managing administrative or accounting support staff
Solid proficiency in QuickBooks, experience in Aspire Software would be considered an asset
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
