Job Description
Visionary and detail-oriented Senior Accountant II sought to join our dynamic finance team. This key role involves supporting the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, general ledger accounting functions, and the production of monthly operating statements for over 80 programs.
The ideal candidate will have experience in financial accounting, knowledge of GAAP and FASB standards, and strong interpersonal skills. They will work under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor to review and analyze general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and ensure timely month-end close.
Responsibilities include:
Review and analyze general ledger accounts to maintain integrity of financial data.
Prepare journal entries and cost allocation schedules to support allocations from VOA Administration to particular programs and/or Sector Administration.
Ensure timely month-end close and distribution of monthly statements of revenue and expenses to management.
Collaborate with staff members to ensure timely and accurate closeout reports are submitted to funding institutions.
Assist with audits by funding agencies, including NYCDHS, NYCDMH, NYSOMH, and the annual audit.
