We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Accounting Specialist to join our growing firm!

We are a small design firm (Landscape Architecture) with projects throughout the Northern Great Plains and have enjoyed national exposure for our work.
Responsibilities
· Keep accurate records of outgoing payments to the organization (Accounts Payable)
· Work aging- on weekly basis (A/R)
· Assist in preparation of necessary financial reports to senior-level managers
· Process company payroll and maintain software system regarding salary and pay.
· Handle general ledger, bookkeeping where necessary
· Manage client accounts and payment schedules
· Month End Accruals and Journal Entries
· Account reconciliations and Bank reconciliations as needed
· P&L reports, balance sheets, and other reporting
· Monthly invoicing and subconsultant reimbursements
· Monthly, quarterly, annual, and biannual state reporting in South Dakota and North Dakota
· State Sales tax computing and reporting
· Assist in the preparation of 10++ at year end
· Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
· Proficient in all life cycles of accounting methods
· Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
· Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
· Can work independently and without supervision when required
· Flexible and willing to take on additional tasks as needed
· Organized and able to manage multiple priorities, self-motivated, dependable and team player
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in accounting or related degree
· Proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks
· Experience in design or construction industry a plus
· Experience with project tracking and project management a plus
