We’re looking for a Financial and Accounting Reviewer to join our collaborative and client-focused team.
Position Overview
The Financial and Accounting Reviewer plays a key role in our corporate tax preparation process. This role focuses on reviewing client financials, general ledgers, and payroll documents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to filing corporate tax returns. If you have a sharp eye for discrepancies and enjoy digging into numbers to find what doesn’t add up, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Review financial statements including balance sheets and profit & loss statements for accuracy and consistency
Identify discrepancies, irregularities, or inconsistencies in general ledgers and supporting documentation
Perform tie-outs and reconciliations between financial statements and source data
Review payroll records, liabilities, and payroll tax forms for compliance and completeness
Assist in the preparation or review of corporate tax returns, including Form 1120 and Form 1065
Work closely with preparers and bookkeepers to correct financial or tax-related issues prior to filing
Maintain detailed review notes and ensure documentation supports tax return positions
Adhere to firm deadlines and deliver high-quality work within tax season timelines
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in accounting, financial review, or tax preparation
Strong knowledge of GAAP financial statements and general ledger review
Experience with corporate tax return preparation or review (1120, 1065) strongly preferred
Familiarity with payroll processes, tax forms, and liabilities
Ability to identify tie-out issues and balance sheet inconsistencies
Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to accuracy
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with client data
Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel, and tax software (Tax Work Flow, Lacerte, or similar preferred)
Work Schedule & Flexibility
Part-time to full-time during tax season (January – April)
Choose your own schedule
Overtime available during peak season.
