Key Responsibilities
Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular physical stock counts, audits, and cycle counts.
Reconciliation: Reconcile inventory discrepancies between physical counts and accounting software/ERP systems.
Financial Reporting: Prepare inventory valuation, variance, and month-end reports for management review.
Cost Analysis: Analyze inventory costs (including overhead) and recommend cost-saving strategies to minimize waste and optimize turnover.
Procurement Support: Collaborate with purchasing/warehouse teams to monitor stock levels, set reorder points, and manage vendor shipments.
Compliance: Ensure inventory processes comply with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or relevant local regulations. The Knowledge Academy +5
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in inventory management and accounting roles.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and accounting/inventory management software (e.g., SAP)
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets to identify trends and discrepancies.
