About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to work on a fulltime basis in our Accounting team in Melbourne reporting to Financial Accounting Manager.
What does the role involve?
Responsible for performing accounts payable functions for the Australian offices within the firm's invoice processing system.
This position will have daily contact with suppliers and firm personnel regarding the status of supplier invoices, setting up new suppliers, processing payments, ad hoc reporting and/or other requests.
Key duties:
Ensure on a daily basis that all office and matter invoices are approved, coded and loaded into the General Ledger
Set up and maintain vendors in accordance with firm guidelines
Prepare and process electronic transfers and payment runs. This includes emailing out remittance advices
Ensure GST is appropriately coded
Process all creditor invoices once authorised
Perform or assist in the upload of certain vendor electronic files directly into the General Ledger
Mange and process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with firm policies and procedures
Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure timely payment of credit card statements
Support the Finance Manager day to day and in accounting related projects.

You will ideally have prior experience working in accounts payable at a law firm. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel is also expected as are excellent organisation and communication skills.
Applicants with experience using accounting packages Elite and 3E are encouraged to apply.
