Description
We are offering an opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk, based in KANSAS CITY, Missouri. The role involves overseeing and facilitating the incoming payments for our organization, primarily through Check, ACH, and Bank Wires. The candidate will be expected to manage and maintain customer accounts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the processing and management of incoming payments on a daily basis
• Handle the transfer of payments across various accounts as necessary
• Coordinate with the Collections department to provide allocation instructions
• Communicate with staff members for obtaining matter numbers
• Utilize the Elite 3E system for research and allocation instructions
• Manage and rename files for the electronic document management system, iManage
• Provide assistance in backing up data as per requests
• Engage in various projects as needed to support the Accounts Receivable department
• Process write-offs and service charges as requested
• Ensure the accuracy of customer credit records and take appropriate action when necessary.
Requirements
• Proficiency in Legal Billing practices.
• Experience in Cash Collections.
• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures.
• Familiarity with Wire Transfer operations.
• Ability to manage Incoming Payments effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial.
