Salary: $59,804 – $64,577 p.a. pro rata plus superannuation

About the Role
We are seeking an organised and customer-focused Administrative Assistant – VET to support the delivery of Vocational Education programs across the Directorate.
Reporting to the Directorate Administrator , this role works closely with Education Managers, Heads of Program, teaching teams and central services to ensure administrative processes are accurate, timely and compliant.
This is a fixed-term maternity leave backfill role from 26 March 2026 to 31 March 2027, offered at 0.8 FTE.
This role suits someone who enjoys variety, teamwork and working in a dynamic education environment, with a strong focus on service, organisation and attention to detail.
What You'll Do
Provide high-quality administrative support to VET programs across the student lifecycle.
Deliver professional, responsive customer service to students, staff and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records, databases and reports in line with compliance and quality requirements.
Support academic administration, including assessments, results, attendance and training plans.
Assist with accreditation and compliance-related administrative processes.
Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets and documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
Support finance administration tasks, including purchase orders, invoices and payments.
Ensure current and accurate program information is maintained on staff and student portals.
Assist with meetings, events and training activities as required.
Contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the Directorate.
Work collaboratively with the Directorate administration team to ensure consistent processes and service delivery.
What You'll Bring
Essential
Demonstrated experience in an administrative support role, preferably within an education or training environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
High-level customer service skills with a professional, calm and confidential approach.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, quality and continuous improvement.
Desirable
Experience working in the VET or TAFE sector.
Familiarity with systems such as STRATA, CELCAT, Markbook, SharePoint orsimilar education systems.
Experience supporting compliance or accreditation processes in a regulated environment.
