The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor, IT Operations, this role is responsible for ensuring comprehensive, operational support, maintenance, and management of the Town’s network and server infrastructure. The Administrator works collaborative with the IT team, vendors, and internal clients to design, install, administer, resolve issues, and decommissioning networks, servers, and related components to ensure the Town’s IT architecture supports the various business applications and needs. This position is also responsible for ensuring the architecture is reliable and secure from cyber threats. As the Administrator, Network & Server, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
Functional Responsibilities:
Install, configure, maintain, and replace core IT infrastructure applications e.g. DNS, DHCP, AD and equipment e.g. servers, switches as required, including documentation of processes
Monitor the environment daily for errors/performance and against cyber threats
Develop and maintain IT standards and service levels related to infrastructure including backups, disaster recovery, device configuration and management, security policies etc.
Research and implement new solutions related to business applications, networking and cybersecurity
Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an experienced professional a post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in Information Technology positions, a minimum of 1 year of related experience in network and server administration and a certification in ITIL Foundation, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMWare VCP, Microsoft MCSA: Windows Server
We are seeking an individual with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills involving regular development of new and improved methods. The ideal candidate will have superior interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment and excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain, clarify and persuade to gain approval
The successful candidate for Administrator, Network & Server will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).
This position offers an hourly pay rate range of $53.03- $66.2+.
Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
