Position Summary :

The Admitting Clerk will perform related documentation duties necessary for booking procedures, receiving patients and visitors as well as ensuring the orderly operation of the Cardiodiagnostics/Cardiac Clinics.

Responsibilities:

Acting as a receptionist for the clinics
Organizing bookings
Filing
Processing orders for Radiology, Lab, and other tests
Computer work which would include creating and distributing lists of appointments and maintaining statistics
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:

Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
Graduate of a formal medical terminology program
Keyboard at 50 wpm, plus experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of the Cerner System
Ability to work and function efficiently under stressful situations
Excellent interpersonal/verbal communication skills and ability to prioritize
Possess a pleasant and professional telephone manner
Must be able to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with complaints from patients, doctors and staff
Positive work record; good attendance record is essential
