Ontario Health is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Advisor, Communications to join our Corporate Communications team. In this role, you’ll lead the development and execution of communications strategies that support high-impact initiatives across the organization and the broader health care system.
This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about making a difference in Ontario’s health care landscape.
Here is what you will be doing:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement communications strategies for large-scale programs and high-priority initiatives.
Advisory Support: Provide expert communications counsel to senior leaders and project teams across Ontario Health.
Content Development: Create compelling materials including communication plans, key messages, briefing notes, reports, and presentations.
Evaluation & Reporting: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of communications strategies and apply insights to future work.
Brand Stewardship: Protect and enhance Ontario Health’s brand through strategic messaging and innovative communications.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Project Leadership: Provides strategic communications project leadership working with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives and deliver communications initiatives.
Mentorship: Support and coach Communications Advisors as needed.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in communications, preferably in a large or public sector organization.
Proven experience working on complex, deadline-driven projects with cross-functional teams.
Health care sector experience is an asset.
Key Competencies
Strong strategic thinking and storytelling abilities.
Expertise in developing and executing communications plans for large-scale initiatives.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
High level of discretion, sound judgment, and decision-making ability.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in Office 365; familiarity with communications measurement tools and techniques.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and build consensus across diverse teams.
Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
