You’ll work alongside a passionate, experienced team to deliver a program full of variety — from art and cooking to sports and imaginative games — and build a space where children feel safe, seen and inspired.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Activities: Participate in delivering a fun, stimulating program of activities (structured and free play). Lead at least two engaging activities per week.
Child Safety & Supervision: Participate in collecting children daily from North Sydney Demonstration School.
Snack Time: Prepare healthy afternoon tea options and involve kids where possible!
Teamwork: Support the set-up and pack-down of shared spaces; collaborate with other educators and team leaders to contribute ideas to improve our offering.
Engagement & Communication: Build strong relationships with children, families, and fellow staff; bring a warm and positive attitude to every shift.
Evaluation & Reporting: Record daily reflections as required, contribute to continuous improvement, and report any incidents appropriately.
Health & Safety: Follow WHS procedures, participate in evacuation drills, and maintain a clean, safe space for all.

Requirements
North Sydney Community Centre follows a structured pre-employment screening process. This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC), Police Check, and two referees. Successful applicants will be reimbursed the cost of obtaining the police check upon commencement of employment.
Employment is conditional on successful completion of these checks.
Desirable skills/experience
Previous experience in an OOSH, education or childcare setting
Up-to-date First Aid Certificate
Awareness of the National Quality Framework (NQF)
NSW Child Safety Standards Training
We will provide you with
Introductory NSW Child Safety Standards Training (with certification)
Centre Safety Training at Induction
Quarterly Team Safety Training
A buddy system with a senior member of the team throughout probationary period
