Description:
Reporting to the Site Manager - NSW, the purpose of this role is to lead the shift, plan workloads to meet daily and weekly production KPI’s, ensure all employees on the shift are complying with all safety, quantity and housekeeping standards and satisfying all reliability and quality standards determined by the approved system. Incorporating LEAN and Continuous Improvement tools and driving quality initiatives, you will support your team to maximise productivity, improve efficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs.
The role will also include but will not be limited to the following responsibilities:
Constant supervision of employees within the shift to ensure uninterrupted production process
Develop, train and motivate employees to acquire maximum efficiency, productivity, co-operation and morale
Responsible for the effective distribution of work load amongst Team Leaders and operators and ensure shift targets are met according to priorities
Daily review and collate production forms to ensure accuracy and authenticity
Liaise on a regular basis with the Production Manager in regard to planning and coordinating any specific requirements
Assist the Production Manager in the daily operations of production requirements and schedules including the overview of inventory stocks, WIP, labour requirements, plant layout and methods
Communicate regularly with employees regarding any safety and quality issues
To Be Successful
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar supervisory position working in an operations or manufacturing multi-disciplined environment
Solid knowledge and experience in Lean and Six Sigma experience is essential
Sound attitude and aptitude to work in a production environment
Familiar with company product range and machine capabilities
Understand of basic accounting and administrative skills associated with production and engineering record keeping and reporting
Promote a team environment that fosters getting the job done
Goal-orientated and effective time management skills allowing for set deadlines
Ability to multi task people, events, systems and deadlines
Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring skills and team building
Knowledge of safety standards in a manufacturing environment
