Primary Purpose
Provide students with engaging learning experiences in Agricultural Science while promoting leadership development, career readiness, and hands-on learning through classroom instruction, laboratory experiences, and participation in the FFA organization.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate in Agricultural Science and Technology (Grades 6–12)
• CDL certification or ability to obtain preferred
• Ability to manage agricultural facilities and maintain a safe instructional environment
Responsibilities
• Teach assigned Agricultural Science courses aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
• Serve as FFA Advisor, supporting student leadership development and participation in FFA activities and competitions
• Supervise and support student Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects
• Coordinate and assist students participating in livestock shows, leadership contests, and judging competitions
• Maintain and manage the agricultural science classroom, shop, and program facilities
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, and community stakeholders
• Participate in professional development and district meetings as required

Working Conditions
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for FFA activities, livestock shows, and competitions
• Ability to work in agricultural shop and outdoor environments
Salary
• Westbrook ISD pays $3500 above base
• 12 month contract
• $529 paid towards TRS Insurance
• District housing, if needed
• Free PK3 for employees, if needed
• Westbrook ISD is a Teacher Incentive Allotment District
