Job Description
At its heart, insurance is about helping people through the unexpected. Doing what's right for our customers - especially in tough times - gives real purpose to our work.
Reporting to the AI Innovation & Adoption Lead, your day-to-day would look like:
Leading structured discovery and design for AI, automation, and analytics to drive measurable value.
Facilitating workshops to map current processes and pain points, identify AI opportunities, and document outcomes, workflows, stories, and acceptance requirements.
Assess and recommend fit‑for‑purpose solutions for each opportunity (simple automation/rules, chatbot/assistant, agentic workflow orchestration, or predictive/ML), based on problem framing, data readiness, risk, and operational fit.
Translating “art of the possible” concepts into safe, feasible, and delivery‑ready scope across agentic, generative, and traditional AI.
In your first 6-12 months, success will look like:
Lead outcome‑led discovery workshops to clarify problems, outcomes, constraints, assumptions, success measures, and align business, technology, data, and risk stakeholders.
Map end‑to‑end current‑state processes (including variants, exceptions, handoffs, and controls) to pinpoint pain points and AI/automation opportunity hotspots.
Co‑design future‑state AI‑enabled workflows using assistive, agentic, and predictive/ML patterns, with embedded human‑in‑the‑loop controls, escalation paths, and fail‑safes.
Translate discovery into delivery‑ready artefacts, including epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and non‑functional requirements (security, privacy, auditability, performance).
Partner with engineering, architecture, data governance, privacy, and risk to define data, integration, and orchestration needs and ensure solutions are feasible, responsible, and traceable to outcomes and controls.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
5+ years’ experience in roles involving process design, product/service design, delivery discovery, business analysis, data, analytics & AI, or consulting (ideally in complex, regulated environments).
Expert facilitation and consulting capability, leading senior‑stakeholder workshops to drive clarity, decisions, and outcome alignment.
Strong process, service, and future‑state design skills, including end‑to‑end mapping, exceptions, controls, and operational measures.
Strong problem‑framing and design‑thinking mindset: start with customer/user needs and outcomes, explore options, and test hypotheses before converging on a solution.
High‑quality requirements craftsmanship, translating complex business problems and ambiguity into delivery‑ready epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and pragmatic scope.
Working knowledge of generative, agentic, and traditional AI/ML, with fit‑for‑purpose evaluation and solution shaping alongside engineers and architects.
