Kalitta Charters II specializes in scheduled and on-demand narrow-body freighter operations. In 2003, aviator and NHRA World Champion, Doug Kalitta, set out to provide a safe and reliable solution to a complex logistics problem. This solution entails moving freight across the Americas for our customers… overnight!
The Aircraft Mechanic Helper assists Aircraft Mechanic in the removal of electrical components, hydraulic actuators, flight surfaces, struts and tires, performs any combination of the following duties.
May be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Prioritizes workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
Removes parts such as control cables, fuel tanks, tires, batteries and filters, using mechanic's tools.
Removes inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floor boards, and related items to provide access for inspection and removal of required items.
Disconnects instruments, ignition systems, and fuel and oil lines.
Assists in dismantling assemblies such as engines, plumbing and hydraulic systems, aircraft structural sections.
Performs routine duties such as furnishing materials, tools and supplies to mechanic, lifting and holding materials in place during operation; cleaning work areas and machines, tools, and equipment.
Cleans aircraft parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions.
Perform other job related duties as may be assigned.

May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
