About the Role
As an Allied Health Assistant, youll support our Allied Health Therapies team to deliver highquality care for patients and their whānau across the hospital. Working under the delegation and guidance of registered therapists, youll assist with therapy programmes, help patients practise functional activities, and support the safe provision and setup of equipment.
This role is handson, varied, and rewarding - youll be directly involved in patient rehabilitation, helping people regain independence and confidence. Youll develop strong working relationships across multiple teams, contribute to a positive patient journey, and play an important part in ensuring our services run smoothly and effectively.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Youll join Te Whata Moanarua Allied Health Therapies, based at Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Hastings. Our service includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, and other allied health specialties, all working together to support tangata whaiora through holistic, culturally responsive care. Youll be part of a friendly, supportive multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, learning, and delivering the best outcomes for our community.

About you
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will bring:
A Level 4 Health & Disability qualification (or willingness to complete this within two years)
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and whānau
A positive, proactive attitude with good problemsolving skills
Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, internet)
A full, clean NZ drivers licence
Commitment to culturally safe practice and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Motivation to learn, grow, and develop your clinical skillset
