Job Description
The Assistant Manager - Smart Manufacturing in the Information Technology department will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies and automation solutions within the organization. This position requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in managing teams specializing in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), API Support, Java, Python, and Artificial Intelligence-Machine Learning (AI-ML).
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the development of new automation solutions, leveraging RPA, APIs, Java, Python, and AI-ML technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
• Launch and complete projects to increase productivity, reduce cost and improve visibility, decision support and management control through automation, and data analytics.
• Identify opportunities for the integration of automation and digital technologies to streamline manufacturing processes.
• Lead the planning and execution of automation projects from conceptualization to implementation.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies such as IoT, AI, machine learning, and robotics for process optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align smart manufacturing strategies with overall business objectives.
• Implement data analytics tools to collect, analyze, and interpret manufacturing data.
• Provide actionable insights and decision support to improve overall operational performance.
• Develop training programs to enhance the skills of manufacturing personnel in utilizing smart technologiesConduct regular performance evaluations, set performance goals, and provide constructive feedback.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure effective utilization of automated systems.
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in Industry 4.0 technologies, RPA, API, Java, Python, and AI-ML to ensure the team is equipped with cutting-edge knowledge.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education and Certifications:
B.E / B. Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Telecommunication / Instrumentation / Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience:
• 4-8 years of experience in manufacturing with a focus on smart manufacturing and automation.
• Experience in pre-sales, customer relationship management, delivery, and project management.
• Proven experience in successfully managing and implementing automation projects.
• In-depth knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and their applications in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of Industrial Numerical Control System Programming (PLC / SCADA / HMI) / Debugging.
• Understanding of installation & commissioning of equipment / production lines with Numerical Control Systems.Hands-on experience with Electrical / Electronics of Machine Tools and Material Handling Systems in a medium to large manufacturing set-up with modern control systems.
• Knowledge of Industrial Networking / Communication Protocols.
• Projects in Industrial Automation / Robotics.
• Experience in IoT / Digital Manufacturing Projects Execution.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies, testing practices, and version control systems.
