The Role
As a member of the Quality team, you will perform technical governance work with both internal and external stakeholders in support of Collins Class submarines. You will develop and maintain technical knowledge of relevant process, packages, products and equipment and apply your technical knowledge and experience in a quality control environment.
You will identify and define issues and report on non-conformances to ensure the accuracy of completed work during the maintenance activity. You will formalise your findings through clear and concise report writing and documentation.
This position is required to:
Conduct Quality Assurance audits of complex mechanical or electronics-electrical activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes;
Conduct witnessing activities on board the Submarine during survey and test & inspection activities and verify that the system is Fit for Purpose;
Assess technical packages, reports, processes and products and equipment performance to meet specified requirements;
Apply technical knowledge and experience, understand priorities to identify, define issues and implement corrective actions;
Independently travel to and work at multiple work sites including HMAS Stirling, Rockingham WA and at supplier sites in Henderson, WA;
Routinely conduct Quality Assurance activities on board a submarine, which involves climbing stairs and ladders, and working in tight (confined) spaces.

About our Team
The Collins Submarine Program within the Naval Shipbuilding & Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class Submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.
