Escher Designs & Drafting Services specialises in designing high-quality custom homes and residential projects across Winnipeg and the surrounding areas. We collaborate closely with builders, engineers, and clients to deliver detailed plans that meet local code requirements and construction standards.
Position Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsperson / Designer with strong experience in residential construction and local building codes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and capable of preparing complete drawing sets, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and permit-ready documents.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed architectural drawings using AutoCAD
Create floor plans, elevations, building sections, construction details, and site plans
Prepare drawings for building permit submissions and revisions
Collaborate with engineers, builders, and clients to coordinate design requirements
Ensure all designs comply with the City of Winnipeg & Manitoba Building Codes
Perform design adjustments and updates based on feedback
Maintain organized project documentation and drawing standards
Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
Strong understanding of residential construction methods and terminology
Familiarity with local bylaws, zoning, and building code standards
Experience in preparing full drawing sets for custom homes
Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Assets (Not Required)
Experience with 3D rendering software (e.g., SketchUp, Revit, Lumion, etc.)
Previous experience with permit applications and dealing with municipalities
