Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Urban Designer specializing in architecture, based in Greater Houston. The candidate will have 3+ years of experience and will collaborate on projects that intersect architecture, urbanism, and landscape design. Responsibilities include developing urban master plans, preparing technical drawings and diagrams, conducting site analysis, and engaging with community stakeholders. The candidate will also co-create design presentations, manage project workflows, and contribute to innovative design solutions that align with UltraBarrio's mission.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in urban design and planning, including creating master plans, streetscape designs, and spatial frameworks
• Strong model building and 3D Printing preferred.
• Strong architectural and landscape design skills with experience in concept development and technical documentation
• Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup
• Ability to perform site analysis, research cultural and spatial contexts, and translate findings into actionable designs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with community members, city agencies, and other stakeholders
• Experience working on sustainable and adaptive design projects
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field
• Professional experience in similar roles; familiarity with urban design in the Greater Houston area is a plus
