What you'll be doing
Overseeing all aspects of gallery operations, including exhibition planning, artist management, inventory control, and sales
Developing and implementing marketing and promotional strategies to increase visibility and drive sales
Managing a team of gallery assistants, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management
Fostering relationships with artists, collectors, and the local art community
Ensuring the gallery maintains high standards of customer service and visual merchandising
Monitoring and reporting on gallery performance, identifying areas for improvement
Participating in industry events and networking to stay up-to-date with market trends
What we're looking for
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar art gallery management role
Strong understanding of the local and national art market, with a passion for contemporary Australian art
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with artists, collectors, and the public
Proven track record in sales, marketing, and customer service within the arts and culture sector
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
A tertiary qualification in art, arts management, or a related field is highly desirable
